Case study:

Financial Services

Financial Services Research Provider

We had several ongoing projects with a leading financial services company.

Saved hundreds of hours across the company. Enabled analysts to pull the relevant data in a few clicks, instead of each time manually aggregating and spending hours on it.

This resulted in significant human capital cost reductions, as analysts did not need to spend large portions of their time on manual tasks. Consequently, it resulted in a bump in revenue growth, as analysts were able to prepare more research pieces and sell them to clients since they we're not spending countless hours on manual data aggregation, visualization and transformation.

Transforming and aggregating large volumes of data unlocked additional insights and benchmarking capabilities that were not possible before, as the analysts were either limited by the capacity of Excel or Google Sheets, or by the enormous amounts of manual work that would have been required.

01.

Overview

The company was using Excel to manually aggregate large numbers of public and private company financials data. It was used to create screeners, charts and to provide insights to clients.

02.

Challenges

For every research piece analysts would spend countless hours aggregating data as well as adjusting the screeners and charts manually in Excel and Google Sheets. Often times this software would crash due to large sets of data, further increasing the time spent.

03.

Solution

We aggregated and transformed all the financial data needed for their screeners using Dataflows on the Power BI App. We identified the key metrics, visuals and charts previously used by the analysts and created a dashboard with all the relevant metrics and dynamic visuals the analysts would need for their research pieces. We also incorporated additional visuals that were not previously available in Excel or Google Sheets.
